HEAD OF SHUTDOWN

Responsibilities:
The Head of Shutdowns is responsible for the comprehensive planning, coordination, and execution of all shutdown activities across the plant. This role ensures that shutdowns are strategically planned, efficiently executed, and completed within budget while adhering to the highest safety standards. The Head of Shutdowns leads the planning process, manages execution through the Shutdowns Leaders, and ensures alignment with all stakeholders. This position requires a strong focus on readiness, execution quality, cost management, and continuous improvement to support the overall operational goals of the organization.
Required skills:
- Holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or a related field;
- With certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP) or equivalent preferred.
- Strong understanding of shutdown, turnaround, and maintenance practices, including project management and safety standards in an industrial environment.
- At least 10 years’ experience in experience in shutdown planning and execution, including at least 5 years in a leadership role;
- Experience working with contractors, cross-functional teams, and leading multidisciplinary projects;
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) to plan and execute shutdown activities;
- Strong leadership skills to manage shutdown teams, contractors, and ensure high performance under pressure;
- Excellent communication skills to align stakeholders, provide clear guidance, and lead effective meetings;
- Ability to anticipate and resolve complex issues during shutdown execution.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams to achieve shared goals.
