Position Summary
The Manager Asset Integrity provides strategic leadership and governance for all integrity, reliability, inspection, and quality assurance functions. This role ensures plant assets remain safe, reliable, and compliant with corporate, legal, and international standards (API, ASME, ISO 55000, ISO 9001) while optimizing asset performance, cost efficiency (AISC), and lifecycle management. The position develops and implements the Asset Integrity and Reliability Management System aligned with ISO 55000, integrating risk-based methodologies (RBI, RCM, FMEA) into corporate asset strategies for over 97000 pieces of equipment. The Manager leads multidisciplinary teams across Integrity, Inspection, QA/QC, Reliability, Condition Monitoring, and Standardization, with 100+ direct employees.

Position Specific Accountabilities
Asset Integrity & Technical Assurance
  1. Own and govern the Plant Integrity Management Plan covering fixed equipment, rotating equipment, and electrical & instrumentation assets, including risk-based methodologies, damage mechanism identification, and inspection and monitoring interval optimization.
  2. Approve Fitness-for-Service (FFS) assessments, remaining life evaluations, and integrity risk mitigation plans for fixed equipment and structures, and approve equivalent life-extension, condition acceptance, and risk mitigation decisions for fixed, rotating equipment and E&I assets based on engineering assessments.
  3. Act as technical authority at manager level for integrity-related deviations, repair strategies, temporary repairs, operating constraints, and life-extension decisions across all asset classes, ensuring risks are identified, documented, and controlled.
  4. Approve annual inspection, condition monitoring, and testing programs, including turnaround scopes, NDT programs, machinery condition monitoring, and E&I inspection and testing activities, aligned with risk ranking, statutory obligations, and plant operating envelopes.
  5. Ensure compliance with applicable integrity, inspection, rotating equipment, and E&I standards, through governance and assurance, including but not limited to:
  1. Fixed Equipment & Integrity: ASME Codes, API 510, API 570, API 653, API 579-1/ASME FFS-1, API 580/581
  2. Rotating Equipment: API 610, API 611/612, API 613, API 614, API 617, API 618, API 670, ISO 7919 / ISO 20816
  3. Electrical & Instrumentation: IEC 61508 / IEC 61511 (Functional Safety), IEC 60079 (Explosive Atmospheres), NFPA 70 / 70E, IEEE and ISA standards as applicable
  4. Inspection, Condition Monitoring & Asset Management: ISO 9712, ISO 18436, ISO 9001, ISO 55000
  1. Provide managerial assurance that integrity risks are identified, monitored, and controlled across all disciplines, and escalate material integrity threats to Operations and Corporate Engineering in a timely and structured manner.
Inspection, QA/QC & Compliance
  1. Govern inspection execution and quality assurance for fixed equipment, rotating equipment, and electrical & instrumentation assets across routine, shutdown, and ad-hoc inspection, testing, and condition monitoring programs.
  2. Own QA/QC systems covering fabrication, installation, repair, overhaul, and refurbishment activities for fixed, rotating, and E&I assets, including welding, electrical works, instrumentation works, material traceability, and inspection execution in accordance with ASME, API, IEC, IEEE, ISA, and OEM requirements.
  3. Approve inspection, testing, and verification procedures, ITPs, and acceptance criteria for integrity-critical work scopes across static equipment, rotating machinery, and E&I systems.
  4. Own and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), deviations, rework documentation, and integrity-related quality audit findings associated with fixed, rotating, and E&I assets.
  5. Provide technical oversight for vendor qualification, factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and contractor quality audits related to fixed equipment, rotating equipment, and E&I systems, including validation of corrective actions.
Asset Management Strategy & Lifecycle Engineering
  1. Develop and continuously improve the Asset Integrity & Reliability Management System (AIRMS) covering fixed equipment, rotating equipment, and E&I assets, aligned with ISO 55000 and corporate asset strategies.
  2. Lead asset criticality modeling and reliability risk assessments for static, rotating, and E&I assets to define inspection intensity, redundancy philosophy, and maintenance strategies.
  3. Integrate RBI, RCM, and FMEA methodologies into asset strategies, inspection planning, condition monitoring, and maintenance task definition for all asset classes, including fixed, rotating, and E&I systems.
  4. Define long-term asset renewal, replacement, and life-extension strategies for fixed, rotating, and E&I assets using Lifecycle Cost Analysis (LCCA), degradation modeling, and obsolescence risk assessments.
Maintenance, Reliability & Performance Governance
  1. Own technical governance of maintenance and reliability performance metrics across fixed equipment, rotating equipment, and E&I assets, including Asset Integrity Index, availability, MTBF/MTTR, OEE, and Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ).
  2. Lead technical review of asset health, risk exposure, and failure trends for static, rotating, and E&I assets, ensuring corrective actions are grounded in engineering analysis, inspection results, and condition monitoring data.
CMMS / EAM & Data Integrity
  1. Govern inspection, condition monitoring, testing, and integrity data integration for fixed, rotating, and E&I assets within CMMS/EAM systems to ensure traceability, data quality, and regulatory compliance.
  2. Own CMMS data structures supporting all asset classes, including asset hierarchy, Bills of Materials (BOMs), failure codes (ISO 14224), PM tasks, routes, inspection and testing frequencies, and condition monitoring strategies for static, rotating, and E&I assets.
Maintenance Standards & Technical Discipline
  1. Own and govern all maintenance, inspection, testing, and reliability technical standards applicable to fixed equipment, rotating machinery, and E&I systems, including SOPs, SMPs, PM procedures, inspection and test checklists, and job plans.
  2. Lead technical audits of maintenance, inspection, and testing practices to ensure procedural discipline, engineering compliance, and consistency across fixed, rotating, and E&I asset classes.

Position Specific Accountabilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or B.Sc. in Mechanical, Metallurgical, Materials Engineering, or equivalent.
  •  Postgraduate qualification (Preferred)
      master’s degree in engineering, Asset Management, Reliability Engineering, or an MBA.
Professional Certifications
  • API 510 (Pressure Vessels), API 570 (Piping), API 653 (Storage Tanks), API 580/581 (RBI).
  • API SIRE API SIFE - Source Inspector Fixed Equipment and/or Rotating Equipment
  • Certified Reliability Leader (CRL) or Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) from SMRP.
  • ISO 55000 Asset Management Certification.
Technical Credentials (Advantageous)
  • NDT Certification: UT, RT, MT, PT, PAUT, TOFD) or experience supervising certified inspectors.
  • Condition Monitoring Certification
Vibration CAT I/II, MLA Level I/II, Thermography, or equivalent experience.
  • FFS & RBI Training   Formal training in API 579 / ASME FFS-1 and API 580/581.
  • Certified Welder Inspection I/II
Industry & Operating Environment (Mandatory)
  • Minimum 15 years of progressively responsible experience in Oil & Gas, petrochemical, refinery, or large chemical complex operations, within asset-intensive, continuous-process environments.
  • Proven experience in major processing facilities such as refineries, gas processing plants, LNG, petrochemical complexes, or large chemical production sites operating under strict statutory and regulatory frameworks.
  • Demonstrated exposure to 24/7 operations, major turnarounds, and high-risk process units (pressure systems, piping networks, storage tanks, rotating equipment).

Asset Integrity & Mechanical Integrity Experience
  • Extensive experience owning and governing Plant Integrity Management Programs, including RBI implementation, corrosion loop definition, damage mechanism reviews, and inspection interval optimization.
  • Proven authority in approving Fitness-for-Service (FFS) assessments, remaining life calculations, repair strategies, temporary and permanent repairs in accordance with ASME PCC-2, and life-extension decisions for pressure vessels, piping systems, storage tanks, rotating equipment, and structures.
  • Direct experience managing statutory inspection compliance and mechanical integrity assurance under API and ASME regimes.

Risk-Based Inspection & Reliability Engineering
  • Demonstrated, hands-on application of API 580/581 RBI, RCM, and FMEA to inspection planning, maintenance strategy development, and risk mitigation in operating plants.
  • Experience leading asset criticality assessments and reliability risk evaluations to prioritize inspection, maintenance, redundancy, and capital renewal decisions.
  • Strong understanding of oil & gas and chemical industry degradation mechanisms, including corrosion (internal, CUI), erosion, fatigue, SCC, HIC, and process-related damage.

Inspection, QA/QC & Repair Governance
  • Proven experience governing inspection execution, QA/QC systems, and repair quality in oil & gas or chemical complexes, including NDT program selection (UT, RT, MT, PT, PAUT, TOFD), ITP approval, and acceptance criteria.
  • Hands-on authority over repair design, execution, and acceptance in accordance with ASME PCC-2, welding procedure qualification, material traceability, NCR management, deviation control, and audit close-out in compliance with ASME, API, and OEM requirements.
  • Experience supporting vendor qualification, FATs, contractor audits, and technical acceptance of integrity-critical scopes.

Codes, Standards & Regulatory Compliance
  • Advanced, applied knowledge of ASME Codes, ASME PCC-2, API 510/570/653/580/581, API 579-1 / ASME FFS-1, ISO 9001, ISO 55000, ISO 9712, and ISO 18436.
  • Proven capability to interpret code requirements, justify technical deviations, and defend engineering decisions with regulators, auditors, insurers, and corporate engineering authorities.

CMMS / EAM & Integrity Data Governance
  • Demonstrated experience governing inspection, condition monitoring, and integrity data within CMMS/EAM systems in large oil & gas or chemical facilities.
  • Strong capability structuring asset hierarchies, BOMs, failure codes (ISO 14224), PM tasks, inspection routes, and frequencies to support RBI, reliability analysis, and lifecycle decisions.
  • Experience using inspection and asset health data to drive maintenance strategies and long-term integrity planning.
  • Performance, Risk & Technical Reporting
  • Proven experience defining and governing asset integrity and reliability KPIs (Asset Integrity Index, availability, MTBF/MTTR, NCR closure, CoPQ) in complex process plants.
  • Ability to translate technical integrity risk into operational and capital recommendations for senior operations and engineering leadership.
  • Experience leading integrity risk reviews, turnaround integrity assessments, and audit close-out forums.
