Responsibilities:
The Superintendent warehouse & packing oversees the daily operations of the warehouse for finished metal products (Cobalt, Nickel, Copper Zinc Sulphide, and Zinc Sulphide), Ammonium Sulphate, and the packing department. The Superintendent ensures efficient handling, storage, and dispatch of products while maintaining compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards. He/She plays a critical role in optimizing workflows, managing budgets, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet organizational objectives.
Required skills:
- You have proven experience in managing teams and achieving operational targets;
- Strong communication and leadership skills;
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software such as SAP, Maximo, or Oracle;
- Excellent analytical skills for monitoring KPIs and operational planning;
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills;
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations;
- Mobility, fitness and ability to work in a multi-disciplined, multi-cultural team, in a manufacturing or metallurgical environment;
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field;
- At least 10 years of experience in warehouse and packing operations.
- Oversee storage, handling, and dispatch of finished metal products.
- Manage packing operations to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer specifications.
- Develop and implement procedures to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Supervise warehouse and packing staff, including training, performance management, and development.
- Coordinate with logistics, Marketing, production, and quality teams to align operations with schedules.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommend improvements.
- Manage warehouse and packing budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Develop contingency plans for potential operational disruptions.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for compliance and audits of all warehouse under supervison.
- To review all customer complaints and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Drive the team to provide timely and responsive initiatives to resolve issues impacting the production forecast.
- Train and develop a progression planning to ensure sufficient skills and competencies in the team.
