SCHEDULER SHUTDOWNS

Responsibilities:
The Scheduler Shutdowns is responsible for developing and managing detailed schedules for shutdown activities, ensuring that all work is effectively sequenced and aligned with the overall shutdown plan. This role plays a critical part in communicating, coordinating, and reporting on the activities of shutdowns, providing essential schedules to guide successful shutdown execution. The Scheduler of Shutdowns collaborates with cross-functional teams to refine and optimize activity sequences, develop baselines, track progress during execution, and ensure alignment with operational objectives.
Required skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for both French and English;
- Ability to lead and manage temporary scheduling teams and to work effectively with cross-functional teams;
- Strong understanding of shutdown, turnaround, and maintenance activities, including best practices for scheduling and resource coordination in an industrial environment;
- Ability to anticipate scheduling conflicts and develop effective solutions and to analyze scheduling data and identify critical paths, bottlenecks, slippages, resource assessments and opportunities for improvement;
- Experience in following up on post-shutdown activities, documenting lessons learned as a continuous improvement, and contributing to closure;
- Proficiency on Scheduling Software (Ms Project, Primavera P6) and familiarity with CMMS systems (Infor EAM, SAP);
- Certification in Planning and Scheduling (e.g., PMI-SP, AACE Certification) preferred;
- Minimum 7 years of experience in scheduling or planning roles, including at least 3 years in shutdown or turnaround environments;
- Bachelor’s degree (Bacc+3) in Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or related field, a master's degree (Bacc+5) is an asset.
