Responsibilities:
The Senior Planner is responsible for developing detailed shutdown plans, work packages, and coordinating resources for business-critical shutdowns. This role ensures that all planning phases are effectively completed, including scope identification, resource allocation, and work scheduling. The Senior Planner also actively participates during the execution phase to track and report progress and follows up on post-shutdown activities, including closure and lessons learned. The Senior Planner collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the shutdown plan is comprehensive, achievable, and aligned with operational objectives, thus supporting safe, timely, and efficient shutdown execution.
Required skills:
- Effective communication skills for both French and English;
- Strong problem-solving skills and High attention to detail;
- Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements;
- Ability to analyze progress and readiness data to identify gaps and recommend corrective actions;
- Experience in following up on post-shutdown activities, documenting lessons learned, and contributing to closure;
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6);
- Strong experience with CMMS software (e.g., Infor EAM, SAP);
- Strong understanding of shutdown, turnaround, and maintenance activities, including project planning and safety requirements in an industrial environment;
- Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP) or equivalent preferred;
- Minimum 5 years of experience in shutdown planning or maintenance operations, including at least 2 years in a planning role;
- Bachelor’s degree (Bacc+3) in Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or related field, a master's degree (Bacc+5) is an asset.
